Carlo Pezzimenti, adjunct faculty
Carlo Pezzimenti began studying guitar at age 13 while living with his family in Italy. During
his student summers, he often made the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, to perform
and learn before Maestro Andrés Segovia at the Music in Compostela festival. It was
these early experiences in the presence of the father of classical guitar that gave Pezzimenti’s
life root as a musician. Eventually he earned a degree in music from the prestigious Morlacchi
Conservatory in Perugia and soon started his own professional career. An active performer in the
United States, Europe and Latin America, Pezzimenti also is devoted to instructing the most promising
young guitarists in the Denton-Dallas area, where he holds faculty positions at Texas Woman’s
University and Brookhaven College.
