Jim Higgins is a private cello instructor. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in music education from Indiana State University and his Master of Music from Ball State University. Since coming to the Dallas area in 1985, he has taught in the Richardson Independent School District, the University of Dallas, Brookhaven College and Richland College.

Mr. Higgins has maintained a private studio for 15 years, teaching cello to students from grade school age to adults. In addition to teaching, Mr. Higgins has performed with most local orchestras, in many church events, and as a member of the Opus Three piano trio for seven years. His other musical activities include composing and arranging. He has arranged many pieces for school orchestras as well as professional chamber music ensembles.
