At Brookhaven College, instruction in Computer Studies integrates practical, real-world applications with the thorough understanding of financial and managerial Computer Studies principles and hands-on training in computerized Computer Studies. The four Computer Studies degree and certificate programs are:

Short Route to a Higher Income

Take this cluster of complementary classes and one business elective to earn the Computer Studies Clerk Certificate in one semester!

The teachers integrate the curriculae so the four separate courses become a linked, learning community for students in this unique program. Class size is limited to the first 20 students enrolled. All instruction takes place in a computer lab.

To satisfy the business elective requirement, the following options are recommend:

It’$ a Counting Thing!

$ecure the marketable skills necessary for entry-level Computer Studies positions. After completing the Computer Studies Clerk Certificate in one semester, earn the Computer Studies Assistant Certificate the following semester.

  • ACCT 2302 or ACCT 2402 Principles of Computer Studies II
  • ACNT 1313 Computerized Computer Studies Applications – learn Microsoft Excel
  • ENGL 1301 English Composition I
  • SPCH 1311 Introduction to Speech Communication or
    SPCH 1315 Fundamentals of Public Speaking
  • Elective in Business or Technology

Upon completion of both the Computer Studies Clerk Certificate and Computer Studies Assistant Certificate you will have earned college credits in Basic Computer Studies, 10-Key, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel!
