
Patti Burks joined the Business Studies Division at Brookhaven College in January of 2001. She teaches computer information technology courses, specializing in e-commerce and Web development. Ms. Burks has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Texas in business computer systems and a Master of Science in management information systems from the University of Texas at Dallas. Ms. Burks previously taught Web development at the Art Institute of Dallas. She has extensive experience as a programmer, systems analyst, supervisor and information systems consultant at ARCO Oil and Gas Company, and also worked as an independent Web development consultant.

Charles Cadenhead joined the Business Studies Division at Brookhaven College in 2000 to teach computer information technology courses. Mr. Cadenhead earned a Bachelor of Science in multidisciplinary studies from Texas Tech University and his Master of Science from the University of North Texas in computer education and cognitive systems. Mr. Cadenhead has taught elementary science in the Dallas Independent School District and worked as a corporate trainer and a systems analyst.

Bill Hammerschlag, Ph.D. has been a full-time faculty member since 1986. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Southern Methodist University and a doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Hammerschlag was a senior systems designer specializing in industrial microcomputer development at United Technologies prior to joining the Brookhaven College faculty.

Mary Milligan joined the Business Studies Division at Brookhaven College in August of 2004. She teaches computer information technology courses, specializing in Visual BASIC, C ++, and introduction to computer technology. Mary has a B.S. in computer science and a Master of Science in computer science, both from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She has experience as a trainer with Chubb Computer Services and as a programmer/analyst at Amoco Production Company, now BP Amoco.

Pat Nolan worked at Texas Woman’s University for almost 10 years before joining the Brookhaven College faculty. She began as an instructional media specialist/trainer for faculty, staff and students and, from 1995-97, assisted with the distance learning deployment on campus for video conference classes. Ms. Nolan has experience in instructional systems engineering, overseeing online class server administration, and integration and training of faculty, staff and students on distance learning-based applications in a lab environment. Her hobbies are any sports her kids play, dance, tennis, new media experimentation and reading science fiction.

Ramiro Villarreal has been a faculty member at Brookhaven College since 1986. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a master’s degree from Texas A & M University with a major in mathematics and minor in electrical engineering. He is presently working on his doctoral degree in applied mathematics at the University of Texas at Dallas. Mr. Villarreal served in the Air Force as a voice processing specialist and worked at Texas Instruments as a telecommunications engineer prior to joining the Brookhaven College faculty.

Tarrilynn Wall has been an instructional associate for computer information technology in the Business Studies Division since January 1998. She is the coordinator for the computer literacy/introduction to computers lab and provides assistance and support to more than 800 students enrolled in the course each semester. Tarrilynn also is the first point of contact for all of the CIT/COSC online courses. Tarrilynn brings more than 20 years experience working with students in computer and math courses at Vernon Regional Junior College and Midwestern State University. Tarrilynn has an associate’s degree in computer programming, Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in business studies and a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Midwestern State University.
