Speech studies instill important communication skills and concepts which benefit students in every role throughout life. Working through assignments alone or in small groups, students learn about themselves, about interpersonal dynamics and about techniques for effective public speaking.
The Speech Communication program includes Introduction to Speech Communication and lab courses featuring applications of speech communication skills. All the speech courses earn college credits which apply toward requirements of the Associate of Arts and Sciences degree and which meet requirements for transfer curriculum to four-year institutions.
