Johnny Castro earned his master's and bachelor's degrees from Texas Tech University and is a certified bilingual teacher. After completing his studies at Texas Tech University, he served as an infant and toddler teacher for the university lab school and served as a teacher coordinator and preschool teacher for the Texas Migrant Head Start program in the Panhandle Region. He also has taught in the Irving ISD as a bilingual kindergarten teacher. A member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, NAYEC, he has served on various committees and as an officer for the South Plains Association for the Education of Young Children. He conducts training sessions for Head Start of Greater Dallas, Child Care Group Inc. and other programs.

Jane Rowe, Dr. Rowe serves as program coordinator for the Child Development Department of the Brookhaven College Health and Human Services Division. She earned a doctorate from East Texas State University, a master's degree from the University of Tennessee and a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University.

Dr. Rowe has worked in the early childhood field in a variety of settings since 1973. She has taught kindergarten and first grade in the DISD, and she has also served as a child care director for the Brookhaven College Parent-Child Study Center and a corporate child center funded by the Zale foundation for teen mothers. Dr. Rowe has been an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, NAYEC, and has served as the affiliate president for Texas and the local Dallas AEYC. She was one of the pioneer validators for the AEYC accrediting body for early childhood programs. She is currently an active advocate, trainer and community leader in the field of early childhood for the Dallas area.

Bernadette Rodriguez is a certified bilingual teacher who has taught in the Carrollton-Farmers Brach ISD as a kindergarten teacher for six years. She has worked in the field of early intervention serving children with developmental delays and disabilities. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of North Texas. Mrs. Rodriguez has conducted numerous trainings for both parents and teachers in the area, including Head Start of Greater Dallas, local child care centers and public schools. She is a member of NAEYC and has presented at various professional organizations, such as Texas Association for Mental Health, Dallas Association for the Education of Young Children and others.

Shirley Smith is the administrative and academic coordinator. She earned a master's degree from State University of New York and a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas.

Courses also are taught by highly qualified adjunct professors who have experience in the field of child development and early childhood education.
