Paramedic Training Course

  1. Complete an Application for Admissions. Forms are available at the Admissions Office, Room S041, or online.
  2. If you don’t have one, obtain a Social Security Number.
  3. Provide proof of all immunizations.
  4. Provide Proof of Texas Residency for those who wish to be classified as residents for tuition purposes.
  5. Complete Texas Success Initiative requirements.
  6. Obtain a Brookhaven College student identification card from the Student Programs And Resources Office, Room S201.
  7. Health Insurance.
  8. Texas Driver License.
  9. Provide proof of current CPR certification from Emergency Care and Safety Institute, American Red Cross or American Heart Association at the professional level.
  10. Provide proof of State of Texas EMT certification before the mandatory EMS Paramedic Program orientation date.
  11. Attend an EMS Program orientation day.
  12. Obtain the required textbooks.
  13. Obtain the EMS Kit(s) by the first day of class.
  14. Obtain required liability insurance policy.
  15. Consent to a criminal background check at the student’s expense.
  16. Consent to a random drug screen at the student’s expense.
  17. Complete program prerequisites outlined in catalog.
