Learning Communities are linked courses that students can take together. Students who participate in Learning Communities have shown a higher success rate than those who take stand-alone courses. Many communities require one text book instead of two, reducing costs.
Learning Communities provide:
- An interconnected learning experience
- A chance to work more closely with your professors
- An increased rate of success
- Participation in a community of students
- Opportunities to form study groups

What Students Say
“Our English and Speech Learning Community feels like one class. Being a single parent, I save a lot of time, because the assignments are integrated, and I don’t feel the burden
of two classes. I think more people would be successful in their classes and graduate if they took advantage of Learning Communities.”
— Wendy Williams
“In my Learning Community, I feel like I’m a part of the class and I need to be here to
contribute to the discussion. We all counterbalance each other and it makes a difference if someone isn’t here.”
— Terry Longshore
“I like how the teachers collaborate with each other and the assignments revolve around each other.”
— Vanessa Carbora
