Management - Management Associate and Certificate Degrees

Brookhaven Graduates

Mary Lou Avera has an extensive management background. She has held positions in manufacturing management and labor relations negotiations. She also has worked in financial sales and as an accountant in industry and a consultant for state government. She received her B.S. in Management from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Her M.B.A is from Governor’s State University in Illinois. In addition, she has completed graduate courses in management and accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas. Mary Lou began teaching college in Illinois and Indiana while employed in the industry. She has been a Professor of Management at Brookhaven College since 1979.

Fall Registration Starts June 15!
Courses: BMGT 2303, Section 2501 — Problem Solving and Decision Making (3 cr) and BMGT 2383, Section 2501 — Cooperative Education, Management (3 cr)
Classes meet on Mondays only from 5:40 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Bldg. M, Room M115. The first class will be on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010.

TSI Waiver - This form will allow you to postpone the Math Assessment test and any remedial math courses while enrolled in courses in the Management Certificate Program. It also will help you become qualified to register for classes online. Print the form, complete it, check the box for “Management Certificate,” and turn it in to the Registrar's Office (S Building). You may also fax it to them at 972-860-4886.

Degree plan request - Print this form, fill it out and submit it to the Registrar’s Office (S Building) to see which of your courses will apply to or transfer into the Management Associate Degree and Management Certificate. Check the correct box and fill in the degree name for “Associate in Applied Science-Management Degree” or “Certificate - Management.” If you want a degree plan for both the Certificate and the Associate Degree, turn in two separate forms. Be sure that official transcripts from all colleges you have attended are on file. You do not have to submit transcripts from any Dallas County Community Colleges. You may also fax this form to the Registrar’s Office at 972-860-4886.

Application for graduation - Print this form and fill it out. Check the correct box and fill in the degree name for “Associate in Applied Science-Management Degree” or “Certificate - Management.” If you are graduating with both the Certificate and the Associate Degree at the same time, turn in two separate forms. Be sure to turn this form in to the Registrar's Office (Building S) early in the semester in which you intend to complete the Certificate or Associate. If you will complete the Certificate this semester and the Associate in a later semester, go ahead and obtain the Certificate now. If you do not receive a letter from the Registrar's Office during the semester, be sure and contact them personally to be sure you will graduate on time. You may also fax this form to the Registrar’s Office at 972-860-4886.
