Financial Aid Easier Online

Finding money for college is a little easier and faster now for Brookhaven College students and parents with the introduction of Loans By Web.  This new service is provided by Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation in Austin, a public, nonprofit corporation that administers the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP).  Students and parents can apply for an approved federal loan online directly from the Brookhaven College financial aid web site.

In seeking financial aid, students and parents may be offered Stafford Loans, student loans either subsidized or unsubsidized by the federal government to meet the cost of higher education, or Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students, PLUS loans, low-interest education loans for parents funding their child's education.  Brookhaven College participates in the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program, which means a private lender provides the actual funds for a Stafford or PLUS Loan, although the federal government or their administrator guarantees the loan funds.

Loans By Web offers families an opportunity to fill out an application for a loan guarantee faster and from one location online.   By using the Brookhaven College financial aid web site, students or parents can each complete their respective portions of the application at their convenience by saving the application online as well.

Once complete, Loans By Web informs students and parents within minutes if they have been accepted for a guarantee loan.  Students or parents can print the promissory note and submit it to the lender of their choice, or use electronic signatures to finish their application to a specific lender online.

Brookhaven College Scholarships/Financial Aid Office also provides a wide variety of other financial aid options such as scholarships and grants.  Families applying for federal financial aid can fill out a single form that covers grants and loans for students or parents.   For more information about financial aid opportunities at Brookhaven College contact the Scholarships/Financial Aid Office at 972-860-4110.
