|Mesquite Symphony Orchestra to Perform Gershwin's music at Brookhaven College|
Farmers Branch, Texas - The Mesquite Symphony Orchestra will perform the music of George Gershwin at 8 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Student Services Center at Brookhaven College.
The concert will feature the music of George Gershwin performed by the MSO and pianist Octavio Gutierrez, music professor at Brookhaven College, who will play "Rhapsody in Blue." Soprano Jeannie Clarke Fisher and pianist William Flynt will join the MSO to perform arrangements of Gershwin songs by Mr. Flynt. The songs include "S'Wonderful," "Embraceable You," "Someone to Watch Over You," "Somebody Loves Me," "Love Walked In," and the delightful "By Strauss." The MSO also will perform instrumental selections from "Porgy and Bess" arranged by Robert Russell Bennett and Gershwin'’s dynamic "Cuban Overture."
Tickets for the Brookhaven College performance are $15 for general admission and $10 for students and senior adults. To reserve your tickets, call the Brookhaven College Box Office at 972-860-4118, from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets also will be available beginning at 7 p.m. on the evening of the concert.
