|Guitar Dallas Presents Pepe Romero|
Farmers Branch, Dallas, TX – Knighted by King Juan Carlos I of Spain, and famous around the world for his technical skill and passion in playing, classical guitarist Pepe Romero comes to the Performance Hall at Brookhaven College for Guitar Dallas March 12 at 8 p.m.
One of the famous “Royal Family of the Guitar,” Romero, along with his father, the legendary Celedonio Romero and his brothers, Angel and Celin, formed The Romeros Quartet, playing at the White House, and for Pope John Paul II and royalty throughout Europe.
Romero has appeared across the United States as a soloist with orchestras in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Houston, Boston, San Francisco as well as the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestras. His credits include more than 50 recordings and his talents have inspired many composers to write pieces specifically for him. Joaquín Rodrigo wrote his last guitar concerto, Concierto para una fiesta, for Pepe Romero in 1983; it was recorded on the Philips label.
Tickets for the concert are $36 for floor seating, $24 for balcony seating general admission. Student ticket costs are $15 for floor and $10 for balcony. Seniors, faculty and staff members of the Dallas County Community College District can purchase tickets for $25 for floor seating, $15balcony seating. For groups of 10 or more, rates are $2 less than the respective ticket price.
