Jason Vieaux Performs for Guitar Dallas
Farmers Branch, Dallas, TX  –  Recognized throughout the world of classical music as one of the most exciting guitarists of his generation, Jason Vieaux is coming to Brookhaven College to perform April 23 at 8 p.m.  Soundboard Magazine describes Vieaux as ·close to perfection... with a maturity, confidence, emotion and virtuosity which belie his youth.·
Vieaux·s first international recognition was as the first-prize winner of the Guitar Foundation of America Competition in 1992 making him the youngest prize winner in history.  Internationally, he has performed at all corners of the globe from Spain to New Zealand, Canada to Southeast Asia.  He was appointed Artistic Ambassador by the United States Information Agency in 1995, touring Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar (Burma).  For the past two years, while meeting a demanding concert schedule, Vieaux has chaired the guitar department at the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music, a leading international conservatory.
Vieaux began his guitar studies at age eight in Buffalo, N.Y.  His 2003-2004 concert season includes his New York recital debut at Merkin Hall, as well as a tour of Taiwan, a return engagement with Auckland Philharmonia, and recitals in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Hartford, St. Louis, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Spivey Hall in Morrow, Ga.
