|“From the Top” Brings Young Performers to
| Farmers Branch, Dallas, TX • “From
the Top,” the hit public radio program that NBC-TV’s “Today”
calls ‘classy reality programming,’ will record a live show Aug.
28 at 8 p.m. at Brookhaven College School of the Arts. The program, hosted
by internationally renowned pianist Christopher O’Riley, features young
musicians from across the country.
|“From the Top” showcases the stories and musical performances of exceptional
pre-college age classical musicians and each one-hour program features performances
by five soloists or ensembles ages 9-18 who are often accompanied by Mr. O’Riley.
|Heard on nearly 250 radio stations coast
to coast, “From the Top” has been described by The Boston Globe
as "an entertaining, accessible and often inspirational mix of outstanding
musical performances, informal interviews, skits and games.”
|NBC TV’s “Today” national
correspondent Jamie Gangel said, “You don’t have to be a classical
music fan to love this show. ‘From the Top’s’ signature is
not taking itself too seriously. While the musical performances are exquisite,
there's nothing snobby about the show.”
|“From the Top” was created by
Concert Productions, Inc. in association with WGBH Radio Boston and New
England Conservatory, its home and educational partner. Public Radio International
distributes the program.

for adults, $20 for senior adults and DCCCD staff, and $15 for students.
Balcony seating is $20 for adults, $15 for senior adults and DCCCD staff,
