Photography Exhibit Focuses on Everyday in Africa
FARMERS BRANCH/DALLAS • “Everyday People, Everyday Sights” takes the viewer into the everyday world of Senegal, West Africa. Girard Polite, professor for visual communications at Brookhaven College, brings his photos and digital images from a showing at the South Dallas Cultural Center to the Atrium Gallery at Brookhaven College Feb. 21 to March 25. The show is free and open to the public, and Polite will be available at a show reception Feb. 24 from 4-6 p.m.
Before becoming a professor at Brookhaven College, Polite spent more than 10 years working in broadcasting, marketing and promotions. His show combines his skills as a photographer with his expertise in digital imaging to both capture and enhance everyday aspects of Senegalese life.
The Atrium Gallery is open Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. For additional information about the show or the Visual Communication Program at Brookhaven College contact Jerry Hill, visual communications professor, at 972-860-4606.
