GRAMMY-Winning Guitarist David Russell Performs In Dallas
FARMERS BRANCH/DALLAS • A winner at this year’s 2005 GRAMMY Awards, David Russell, performs for the Brookhaven College School of the Arts at the Farmers Branch Church of Christ April 15 at 8 p.m. Classical guitarist David Russell is world renowned for his superb musicianship and artistry, earning the highest praise from audiences and critics alike.
Russell won the Classical GRAMMY for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance without an Orchestra for his album, “Aire Latino: Latin American Music for the Guitar.” Under the Telarc label, Russell has released a total of nine recordings that vary from classic baroque to Celtic to Spanish and Latin American composers. The New York Times has called Russell, “a talent of extraordinary dimension.”
David Russell tours the world, appearing regularly at halls in cities such as New York, London, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Madrid or Amsterdam. He has been honored as a Fellow of The Royal Academy of Music in London in 1997, and has won the international Andrés Segovia and Spain’s Francisco Tárrega competitions.
The Farmers Branch Church of Christ is located at 3035 Valley View Lane in Farmers Branch. Pricing for tickets is $24 for general admission, $20 for senior adults or Dallas County Community College District employees and $15 for students.
