FARMERS BRANCH/DALLAS  •  Celebrity worship, backstage maneuverings and mistaken identities combine in this hilarious comedy of one man’s rise to the top of the professional opera world. Written by Ken Ludwig, “Lend Me a Tenor,” is the summer play from Theatre Brookhaven, July 14-24 in the Arena Theater at Brookhaven College.

When the great Italian tenor hired as a guest artist falls unconscious, his assistant must take the stage in his place. Directed by Michael Robinson, the play follows twists and reliable tricks such as an apparent suicide, a heroic impersonation, mistaken identities, secret conniving, double-entendres and amorous interludes.

Shows are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. General admission is $6; student and senior adults are $4. Tickets are available at the School of the Arts Box Office at 972-860-4118. Box Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Theatre Brookhaven is a performance component of the Brookhaven College School of the Arts. The Brookhaven College School of the Arts is funded in part by a grant from the city of Carrollton. For information about the School of the Arts, contact Rodger Bennett, executive dean, at 972-860-4730.
