For release through March 23.
FARMERS BRANCH/DALLAS • Brookhaven College School of the Arts and WRR Classical 101.1 FM are pleased to present the return of "From the Top" March 23 at 7:30 p.m. In 2004, a live recording at Brookhaven College sold out so the upcoming event has been moved to the Eisemann Center to accommodate a larger audience.
Hosted by internationally renowned pianist Christopher O'Riley, "From the Top," showcases the stories and musical performances of exceptional, pre-college age classical musicians. Recorded in front of a live audience, WRR airs the program every Saturday at 9 a.m. Each one-hour program features performances by five soloists or ensembles who are often accompanied by Mr. O'Riley.
"From the Top" has been described by The Boston Globe as "an entertaining, accessible and often inspirational mix of outstanding musical performances, informal interviews, skits and games." Heard on nearly 250 radio stations coast to coast by 750,000 listeners each week, "From the Top" ranks among the top five weekly programs on the radio.
"The show has these incredible live performances, but what makes it so remarkable is that you are brought into the life of each performer," Yo Yo Ma, professional cellist and a former guest performer on "From the Top," said. "You learn about the whole kid! It's a lot of fun and it's classical music's future."
Tickets are on sale now. Please call 972-744-4650 or visit www.EisemannCenter.com to purchase tickets online. Tickets are $5-50; student and group discounts are available.
