DALLAS – TeachMeGIS.com will present a free lunch-and-learn session on “GIS Applications in the Oil Industry” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 21, 2007 in the Sprindletop Room of the Ellison Miles Geotechnology Institute, Building H. Bring your own lunch and learn how Geographic Information Systems are being used widely in the petroleum industry as a means of automating standard geologic exploration tasks, managing production and exploration data and as a collaboration and document management tool. This seminar will demonstrate some of the uses of GIS and discuss what it takes to get started working with a GIS system.
