For Release through April 5
DALLAS – Each spring as graduation approaches, the Brookhaven College Career Development Center coordinates a week of activities for students and the public to prepare themselves for the job market. A career fair, featuring more than 70 employers, rounds out the week of speakers April 5 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Career Fair provides opportunities for students and community members to speak directly to employers who are seeking to fill both full- and part-time positions. Employers will include banks, hotels and resorts, financial services, retail, insurance, government and technical companies. Attendees at past fairs have included both national and local businesses large and small such as Crowne Plaza Addison, Dallas Plumbers and Pipefitters, Bank of America, Frito Lay, Inc. and Green Mountain Energy.
Prior to the career fair, the Career Development Center has arranged for speakers to offer tips for organizing your thoughts under pressure, understanding universal truths about business and preparing your resume in advance of the career fair.
The events are free and open to the public. In addition to two semi-annual career fairs, Brookhaven College’s Career Development Center offers individual counseling, mock interviews, career testing and job search assistance. For more information about the career fair, please contact the Career Development Center at 972-860-4894. Brookhaven College is located in the city of Farmers Branch, just north of the LBJ Freeway (IH-635) at 3939 Valley View Lane between Midway Road and Marsh Lane.
