For Release Through April 27
DALLAS – The award-winning Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform a concert to raise money for Brookhaven College music students. The 10-member singing group and five-member ensemble are performing at the historic Lakewood Theater on April 27 at 7 p.m.
Directed by Elaine Gardner-Morales, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble consists of music majors and minors performing a variety of jazz classics and vocal jazz styles. The group has toured England, Ireland, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Texas, and has performed in Nashville, Atlanta and Chicago. The Vocal Jazz Ensemble has received several Outstanding Ensemble and Outstanding Soloist Awards from nationally recognized festivals, including the New Orleans Jazz Festival and the North Texas Jazz Festival in Addison.
