John Flores, librarian at Brookhaven College , has another passion in theater and enjoys acting, directing and writing. At the Prague Fringe Festival, May 25th-June 1, in the Czech Republic , a theater piece he wrote premiered to rave reviews. “The Hallucinogenic Toreador” tells the story of the life of Salvador Dali through the artist’s painting of the same name. Flores was commissioned to put together the play by a friend he has at Ohio State University , and it was a theater group from Ohio who performed the play. The performance was selected as one of the top five at the festival. The Prague Fringe Festival annually brings together more than 200 artists, in about 45 shows, to produce a wide variety of works in alternative theater, dance, music and comedy.
