News at Brookhaven College

For Release Through March 15

DALLAS - Not everyone will make it to the end of Theatre Brookhaven’s spring season opener, “Design for Murder,” March 5-15. Will it be Celia Granger, who is the strong, capable matriarch of the family; David Granger, who drinks and has a temper; or the pretty maid Kathy who spends too much time with the Granger’s driver, Earl. Written by George Batson, this tale of mystery and murder will keep audiences in their seats.

Everybody we meet as the play rolls along seems to have reason enough to murder someone. Fans of murder mysteries will find this puzzle playing out a bit differently than expected. In a tale with a mansion upstairs and a staff downstairs, tension between the two might have the audience ready to believe the butler did it. Only there is no butler in this play.

Directed by Michael Robinson, shows are March 5-7 and 12-14 at 8 p.m., and March 8 and 15 at 2:30 p.m. in the School of the Arts Performance Hall in Building C. General admission is $8; students and senior adults are $6. Tickets are available at the School of the Arts Box Office at 972-860-4118. Box Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
