For Release through April 9
DALLAS – As college students near graduation, they will join others hit by difficult economic times in looking for a job. Brookhaven College has a spring Career Fair, with more than 50 companies committed to attend, on April 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Student Services Center. The Career Fair finishes out a week of seminars and workshops aimed at preparing students and community members for their job search.
Prior to the Career Fair, the Career Development Center has arranged for speakers to offer tips for organizing your thoughts under pressure, understanding universal truths about business and preparing your résumé in advance of the career fair.
The Career Fair, sponsored by United Parcel Service, provides opportunities for students and community members to speak directly to employers who are seeking to fill both full- and part-time positions. Employers will include banks, hotels and resorts, financial services, retail, insurance, government and technical companies. Attendees at past fairs have included both national and local businesses large and small such as Best Buy, Carrollton/ Farmers Branch Independent School District, Geico Direct, Parkland Hospital and Wyndham International.
All events are free and open to the public. In addition to two semi-annual career fairs, Brookhaven College’s Career Development Center offers individual counseling, mock interviews, career testing and job search assistance. For more information about the Career Fair, please contact the Career Development Center at 972-860-4894.
