DALLAS—Explore the Brookhaven College School of the Arts through the work of its professors and staff members. New exhibits open Oct. 5-28 for the Art Department faculty members in the Forum Gallery and René West in the Studio Gallery. Receptions for both exhibitions are Oct. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m., and faculty members will present gallery talks Oct. 21 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Forum Gallery.
Exhibiting art department faculty members include Susan Barnett, Betsy Belcher, Chris Blackhurst, Barbara Brault, Jim Burton, Du Chau, Chong Chu, Kace Davis, Corey Johnson, Natalie Macellaio, Rick Maxwell, Margaret McDowell, Susan Mollet, David Newman, Michael O’Keefe, Chancellor Page, Marina Shterenberg, Julie Shipp, Lianne Krueger Sullivan, Rebecca Swann, Don Taylor, Erik Tosten, Dave Van Ness, Mary Katherine Wimberly, Jeff Yerger and Marla Ziegler. Works in the exhibition include ceramics, digital imaging, drawing, metals, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture, representing the range the studio art faculty members possess and highlighting examples of their professional practice.
René West: Ephemera is an exhibition of composite digital photographs. West is a professor of art at Amarillo College, after teaching several years at the University of Texas at Arlington. She received a Master of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Woman’s University.
The exhibitions and reception are free and open to the public. Brookhaven College is located at 3939 Valley View Lane, between Midway Road and Marsh Lane in Farmers Branch. The Forum Gallery is located in Building F, Room F101, and the Studio Gallery is located in Building D, Room D127.
