News at Brookhaven College

For Immediate Release

DALLAS - Brian Hauser, art student at Brookhaven College, is the 2010 winner of the Dallas Art Dealers Association Edith Baker Scholarship. His work is part of the Edith Baker Scholarship exhibition at the Irving Arts Center, which features pieces from the students who were recommended for the scholarship.

Hauser received the award at the exhibition's Sept. 24 reception. The scholarship, which totals $4,000, also provides the winner an opportunity to intern with the DADA member gallery of his choice. After completing his final semester at Brookhaven College this fall, Hauser will transfer to Arizona State University to complete the Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking.

The scholarship is named in honor of retired Dallas art dealer Edith Baker, one of the founders of the Dallas Art Dealers Association 25 years ago. The scholarship benefits students pursuing study of the visual arts through a financial award, mentoring, internships, gallery exhibition and career fair.
