So you think you know the story of Sleeping Beauty? Well, once upon a time you might have, but this time, it’s a little different.
“To break the spell on Beauregard,
The Princess must do this:
Find the handsome, snoring Prince,
And wake him with a kiss!”
Kerry Graves’ original adaptation of this timeless children’s tale, “Sleeping Beauty”, comes to life on the Performance Hall stage Oct. 21-30. This time it is the beauty of a resourceful Princess with the brains and strength to defy two kingdoms, thwart the forces of evil and backward thinking who rescues the handsome prince.
Directed by Darise Error, drama professor, this modern tale pays homage to the original story by the Brothers Grimm.
Performances are Oct. 21-22 and 28-29 at 7 p.m. with matinees Oct. 22-23 and 29-30 at 2:30 p.m. Earlier show times were chosen to make the show more accessible for families.
