For Release Through Dec. 11
DALLAS – There aren’t many things that signal the holidays like “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Theatre Brookhaven is kicking off the holiday season with an adaptation of the heartwarming classic.
Performed as a live 1946 radio broadcast, Joe Landry’s “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” features a small ensemble of actors who play more than 25 roles. The production, directed by Charles Self, scenic designer/technical theater specialist, will be at the Arena Theatre Dec. 1-11.
George Bailey, a compassionate yet disheartened businessman, is at the end of his rope, questioning his purpose in life. Just when he comes to believe that life is not worth the effort, some divine intervention allows him to see the way that his life has affected all those he loves, and he learns what his life is really worth.
Performances are Dec. 1-3 and 8-10 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 4 and 11 at 2:30 p.m. General admission is $8; students, staff and senior adults are $6.
