For Release through Dec. 8
DALLAS – Three consecutive exhibitions in the Forum and Studio galleries at Brookhaven College will feature the course work of Art Department students.
"Studio Art Classes 1," Nov. 1-11, will show work in two- and three-dimensional design, drawing, life drawing and art metals; "Studio Art Classes 2," Nov. 16-25, will show work in ceramics, digital media, photography, printmaking and watercolor; and "Studio Art Classes 3," Dec. 1-8, will show work in painting and sculpture.
"These exhibitions are exemplary of the breadth and quality of student work created in the Art Department at Brookhaven," said David Newman, gallery director.
Students are required to submit one work from each of their studio art classes, an experience that prepares them for exhibiting in a professional gallery, according to Newman. The exhibitions also serve as "a means of program assessment for the Art Department," he said.
Brookhaven College is located at 3939 Valley View Lane, between Midway Road and Marsh Lane in Farmers Branch. The Forum Gallery is located in Bldg. F, Room F101, and the Studio Gallery is located in Bldg. D, Room D127. Broth galleries are free and open to the public Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
