News at Brookhaven College

Release Date Aug. 13

In a dramatic turn of events, this year’s performance of the Mesquite Symphony Orchestra at Brookhaven College will feature a student soloist. Eunjin An, sophomore music student, will be the piano soloist for “Dramatico” on Sept. 15 at the Brookhaven College Performance Hall. Dramatico will showcase the music of Massenet, Schubert and Grieg.

Since 2004, the symphony has been performing at the college with faculty members as the featured soloists, but Eunjin has been performing for many years, so the pressure should not be a real concern for her. Eunjin gave her first concert when she was just 15. She plans to complete her associate degree before transferring to the University of North Texas to become a concert pianist and music professor.

The concert supports scholarship funds that are awarded to students in the Brookhaven College School of the Arts Music Department. All ticket sales will support scholarships for music students.

Tickets are $15 for general admission with $10 tickets available to students and senior adults. To purchase tickets, contact the Music Department of the School of the Arts at 972-860-4730. The Performance Hall at Brookhaven College is located in Building C on the college’s campus at 3939 Valley View Lane in Farmers Branch.
