News at Brookhaven College

Release Date Nov. 1

Theatre Brookhaven’s second performance of the semester will have you falling in love! Beginning Nov. 29, the talented Drama Department will give its interpretation of Tom Jones’ “The Fantasticks.”

The romantic and witty plot introduces us to Matt and Luisa, two young neighbors whose parents fake a family feud to ensure that their children fall in love in the style of Romeo and Juliet. The plan works, but the kids soon find out about their parents’ sneaky ways and become somewhat disenchanted with one another. With reality setting in, and some twists and turns along the way, the two are forced to make difficult decisions that may or may not lead to a happy ending.

The production is directed by Charles Self and choreographed by Katie Moyes Williams, with music by Harvey Schmidt. The show will run Nov. 29–Dec. 1 and Dec. 6–8 at 8 p.m., with matinees Dec. 2 and 9 at 2:30 p.m. All performances will be in the Black Box Theatre.

Tickets are $10 for students, staff and seniors. General admission is $15. For more information or to reserve tickets, contact the Brookhaven College Box Office at 972-860-4118 or at BHC_Boxoffice@dcccd.edu. Box Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 1-5 p.m. and Friday from 1-3:30 p.m.
