Online Advising Resource Manual

Do not seek advising over the telephone. Advisors are not available to conduct advising over the telephone.

The Brookhaven College Advising & Counseling Center provides a variety of services to current and new students.  The center is staffed by a team of professional academic advisors who are available to meet with students on a walk-in basis throughout the year.  Appointments for advisement or counseling may be available.  Please call the center for more information.

Important Tip! Several months before enrollment, students who are planning to use financial aid should contact the Brookhaven College Financial Aid Office, Room S018, in the Student Services Center.

Counseling

Limited counseling services are available for you in the Advising and Counseling Center by appointment only. To make an appointment, please phone 972-860-4830, and then press 0. There is no charge for these services.

Personal Counseling

Stressed out? Test anxiety? Not enough time for all the things you do? Relationship issues? Difficulties balancing school and work? Too blue to study? Counselors are available for you in the Advising center to talk about these or other issues you may be experiencing. To make an appointment you may phone 972-860-4830 and then press 0. There is no charge for this service.

Appointments may be made in the Advising/Counseling Center in S-Building.

Support Groups

Individuals who would like to have the support group are welcome to talk with a counselor about getting one started.

Referral Services

Referrals are available for students who need assistance connecting with services in the community. Resources for finding a local AA meeting, a women's shelter, services for the hearing impaired and many other social services are easily accessible from the counselors.
