Registration for Classes
You may apply for admission and register for courses in the Student Services Center, Bldg. S, at the Brookhaven College Main Campus, 3939 Valley View Lane, city of Farmers Branch.

First-Time-in-College Students
Prior to the beginning of each session (see above or the calendar on Page 3 for specific registration dates) an accepted student authorized to do so may register for classes for the coming semester. Students who qualify for veterans’ benefits should contact the veterans’ representative in the Admissions Office in the Student Services Center, Room S048, or call 972-860-4706.
- Complete and return your application for admission.
- Receive letter of confirmation and registration materials.
- Attend an orientation session for First-Time-in-College students.
- Complete appropriate assessment testing and schedule an appointment with an advisor for academic planning. High school transcripts and SAT/ACT/TASP scores, if available, should be brought to the academic planning session to assist in placement.
- All students entering college for the first time are REQUIRED to have an advisement session with an academic advisor after attending the MANDATORY ORIENTATION. Advisement sessions are scheduled after completion of assessment tests (see Assessment Testing Policies).
Your advisement session will help you:
- Develop an educational plan related to your career goals, current commitments, and basic skill level
- Determine what courses to take to meet your educational goals
- Plan your class schedule
- Learn how to complete the registration process
- Know where to go if you need help
- Complete registration. You will complete registration through the Advising Center and Counseling Center at the conclusion of your academic planning session.
- PAY TUITION AND FEES BY REQUIRED DATE.
- Receive registration materials in the Help Desk. This is a required step for all continuing students.
- If required, complete appropriate assessment testing and schedule an appointment with an advisor for academic planning. SAT/ACT/TASP scores (if available), and documentation of previous academic course work MUST be brought to the academic planning session to assist in placement.
- Complete registration and PAY TUITION AND FEES BY REQUIRED DATE.
- Request official transcripts from ALL colleges ATTENDED SINCE YOUR LAST ENROLLMENT. If you have a degree, only the transcript with the degree notation is required.
- Complete and return a Re-admission Form. Submit official transcripts at this time.
- Receive a letter of confirmation and registration materials.
- You may be required to see an advisor for academic planning. You MUST bring current assessment results, for example, SAT, ACT, TASP test scores and/or previous college transcripts to your advisement session.
- Documentation of course prerequisites is required. You are responsible for providing transcripts and/or grade reports of all previous college work.
- Complete registration and PAY TUITION AND FEES BY REQUIRED DATE.
Transfer Students
- Request official transcripts from ALL COLLEGES PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED. If you have a degree, only the transcript with the degree notation is required.
- Complete and return your application for admission. Submit official transcripts at this time.
- Receive letter of confirmation and registration materials.
- If you are transferring to Brookhaven College from another college or university, you may be required to see an advisor for academic planning. You MUST bring current assessment results, for example, SAT, ACT, TASP test scores and /or previous college transcripts to your advisement session. Also, documentation of course prerequisites is required. You are responsible for providing transcripts and/or grade reports of all previous college work.

Multicultural Center Students
The Multicultural Center specializes in assisting non-native English-speakers or students not born in the United States.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL NON-IMMIGRANT STUDENTS: All International students who were issued their current I-20 before Aug. 9, 2002, must obtain a new I-20. Please go to the Brookhaven College Multicultural Center, located in Room S136, to fill out the required documents, which are also available on our Web site. Failure to obtain a valid I-20 will jeopoardize your student status.

eCONNECT
Online application for enrollment & registration in courses
Brookhaven College is pleased to offer you our eConnect services, an interactive web application that allows you to search, register and pay for your credit classes online. Another benefit of eConnect is that you can access information contained in the administrative database. Now you may view your grades and access your financial information too.

This new web interface consists of forms and supporting infrastructure to extract and deliver information from its database via the Internet to your desktop.
Online Application for Admission
Online applications for enrollment are loaded into our system nightly. You will receive confirmation that it is received. A minimum of two business days is required to process your application once it has been submitted online.

You will then go to the admissions office at Brookhaven College and go through your course registration process.
NOTE: If you are a new student who is registering for classes for the first time in the Dallas County Community College District you MUST register on campus with an advisor in the Advising and Counseling Center.
Eligibility for Online Registration
If you are planning to register for credit classes, using online eConnect, you must have documented the following:
- six to 29 college-level credit hours, with
- a grade point average of 2.25 or better, or
- 30 college-level credit hours or more with a grade point average of 2.00 or better, AND
- have a TASP status of passes, exempt, waived, or complete.
If these criteria do not apply to you or you are not sure of your status, please visit the Brookhaven College Advising and Counseling Center, or call 972-860-4830, for more information.
To Register in Person
- Review the Registration Instructions and Advisement Information pages for specific information, then complete the necessary steps.
- Register for courses at the designated area(s).
- Students enrolled in Developmental or ESOL courses, and students with TASP restrictions will register through the advising centers at the conclusion of their academic planning sessions with an advisor.
- Pay tuition by the payment due date. Payment may be made in person to the cashier, through the drop off box located outside the Cashier’s Office, or by mail.
To Register by Proxy
If circumstances prevent you from attending registration and you have completed all admissions, orientation, assessment, and advisement processes, you may have another person register you by proxy.
Any person designated as your proxy to register for you must have:
- Your written authorization to complete registration in your name.
- Your completed Application/Registration Form.
- Alternative course selections in the event that your first choice is full.
- Authorization to pay tuition and fees. The student to be registered (not the proxy) has the ultimate responsibility for the correct payment of all tuition and fees.
- Proper photo identification (e.g. driver’s license or passport.
ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE DUE DATE TO AVOID CANCELLATION OF YOUR REGISTRATION.
