Sherri Holloway Graduates from SMU

Sheri Elizabeth Wilson Holloway, Ph.D., was an alumna of Brookhaven College and former jury consultant in Dallas and West Texas. Holloway died July 28, 2009, at the age of 50, and named Brookhaven College as a beneficiary of a $150,000 annuity.

Holloway was born in Dallas in 1959 and attended Brookhaven College for her freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Southern Methodist University. In 1988, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in psychology at SMU, where she also was a member of the Psi Chi Chapter of the National Honor Society in Psychology. She went on to get her Ph.D. in philosophy at Texas Tech University in 1991.

Regarding Holloway's $150,000 gift, Brookhaven College Interim President Dr. Richard D. McCrary said, "This is an unexpected and most generous gift from a student I would like to have met. I'm inspired and, on behalf of the faculty and staff, I am proud that Dr. Holloway remembered the college in this meaningful way."

The gift will be used to support student success and retention efforts at Brookhaven.
