- Community College Survey of Student Engagement-CCSSE
The Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) is designed to capture measures of student engagement. Education research has consistently found that students who are engaged in meaningful educational activities are more likely to be successful. CCSSE was first piloted at Brookhaven College in spring 2002. It is administered biennially since then and is used to inform decision making and promote improvements in student learning and persistence.
CCSSE benchmarks include five categories: Academic Challenge, Active and Collaborative Learning, Student-faculty Interaction, Student Effort, Support for Learners.
- Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory
The Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) measures student satisfaction and priorities. The SSI asks students to indicate the level of importance that they place on an item and the level of satisfaction for the item. The combination of importance and satisfaction data allows Brookhaven College to review satisfaction levels within the context of what is most important to our students. Brookhaven College participates in the Noel-Levitz SSI every other year.
