Brookhaven College's Distance Learning Program brings your courses to you by using various forms of technology – television, computer and the Internet. Distance education students are those who are enrolled only in classes offered through distance education with no on-campus component.
Many courses begin throughout the semester and provide convenient and flexible access to learning opportunities. Brookhaven College offers more than 300 online courses each semester and serves more than 7,000 online students per year. In addition, we offer 20 programs of study that can be completed fully online.
Online courses meet the same faculty, curriculum and transfer standards as traditional on-campus courses. As with on-campus courses, students must meet prerequisites or assessment score requirements where applicable.
- If you are taking courses that have an on-campus component, you may be required to provide proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination before you can register for classes.
- Determine if you are eligible to use online registration – eConnect. Registration materials are not needed if you register online.
- If not eligible to use online registration, receive registration materials at the Welcome Center. If required, complete appropriate assessment testing and meet with an advisor for academic planning. SAT, ACT, THEA, TASP scores, if available, and documentation of previous academic course work must be brought to the advisement session to assist in placement.
- Complete registration and pay tuition by the due date.
SPECIAL NOTES TO STUDENTS:
You must pay by the required date or your enrollment in courses may be purged from the registration records.
