President’s Cabinet This senior level cabinet acts as a brain trust for the president, deliberates, and makes decisions concerning programs, personnel, buildings and committees. It is also the arena where potential problems and confidential, sensitive matters are discussed.

Extended President’s Cabinet This cabinet receives the president’s report from the Chancellor’s Cabinet and communicates information to the rest of the college. It serves as a sounding board for major college decisions and directions. This group may also discuss confidential matters.

Budget & Planning Team This team plans how the college will allocate its financial resources to advance the mission of Brookhaven College. It sets funding priorities and develops the college’s budget, which includes dispersal of funds for both operating expenses and capital improvements.

Budget & Planning Team Sub-committee: Core Facilities Group For renovations and remodeling at the campus level that do not require District decisions: regularly collect data on needed building renovations and remodels; act as a clearinghouse for requests on building renovations and remodeling; develop guidelines for projects that will be reviewed by the group; determine the disposition of requests for renovation and remodeling; provide summary reports and recommendations to the President’s Cabinet; communicate the disposition (either supported or rejected) and progress of requested projects to the campus.

Budget & Planning Team Sub-committee: Long Range Facilities Planning In preparation for development of the Comprehensive Improvement Plan for the DCCCD, the following responsibilities are assigned:

• collect college input on long range facilities needs;
• make an initial assessment of priorities and present results to the President's Cabinet for review;
• respond to the facilities master plan as proposed by the architects selected by the District;
• monitor and respond to the actions of the District architects/project managers in relationship to the initial priorities and project parameters; and
• provide insights and perspectives on possible re-prioritization of projects as the facilities master plan evolves.

Access & Equity The purpose of the committee is to assess, determine need and implement improvements for educational and campus access.  These may include, but are not limited to safety, emergency and procedural issues.

Art Advisory To guide development of the permanent collection, to accept or reject donations or purchases for the collection, to recommend sites for installation of art work, to approve requests for external funding, and to approve storing or de-accessioning of art work.

Bookstore Advisory The Bookstore Advisory Team provides an opportunity to communicate bookstore issues and receive feedback in a group setting with representation from administration, faculty, staff, student representatives, and contracted bookstore staff. The advisory team serves as liaison between the campus community and contracted bookstore management.

Communications Management Group The Brookhaven Communications Management Group determines how technology and the Communications Module in Colleague can best be used to impact student representative success and student representative retention.

Curriculum Committee The College Curriculum Committee is appointed by the College President and has the responsibility to review proposed curriculum revisions submitted by Dallas County Community College District Curriculum Committees that impact courses and programs offered by the college.

Enrollment Management To ensure a comprehensive schedule and maximize space utilization.

Food Service Advisory The Food Service Advisory Team provides an opportunity to communicate food service and vending issues and receive feedback in a group setting with representation from administration, faculty, staff, student representatives, and contracted food service staff. This advisory team serves as liaison between the campus community and contracted food service management.

Fund 12 Budget Advisory The committee is formed in accordance with Texas Education Code, 54.503 and 54.5031 to review budgets pertaining to the use of student representative services fees generated by currently enrolled student representatives and to advise college personnel on the usage of such monies to assure that student representative needs are adequately addressed. This committee will also advise the college president of any proposal to increase student representative services budgetary issues to meet student representative needs.

Refund Petition To process student representative requests for full refund of tuition after they have dropped courses.

Safety and Loss Prevention The purpose of this committee is to discuss campus safety issues and attempt to resolve the safety concern in order to minimize risk to the people on our campus, student representatives or staff. The risk of financial loss is minimized by resolving safety issues.

Safety Team The Campus Safety Team shall review campus and community issues related to environmental, health, safety and risk, and make appropriate recommendations for corrective or preventive actions to the President's Cabinet. The Campus Safety Team periodically reviews and provides updates to the Emergency Response Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan.

Technology Team To aid in the development and maintenance of an on-going technology plan that could be incorporated as part of the college strategic planning process and to evaluate and communicate emerging technologies to the Brookhaven College community.

Uniform Recruitment and Retention Strategic Report Committee This committee was formed to respond to House Bill 1678, now codified as Texas Education Code 61.086. The purpose is to conduct an internal and external analysis to develop measurable recruiting and retention goals. Based on the results of the analysis, we will develop a marketing plan to attract, recruit and retain a diverse population. After the plan is implemented, we will monitor and adjust its ability to meet its goals.

Awards & Recognition Committee contributes to planning and presenting annual awards and recognition events at Brookhaven College. Advises on changes needed in process, implementation of new activities, etc.

Commencement The committee is responsible for the planning and orchestration of the annual Brookhaven College graduation. The event takes place in May of each year. The committee is responsible for the site recommendations each year, and the college events planned to celebrate student representatives’ success.

Holiday Plan and present a December luncheon to celebrate winter holidays.

State Employee Charitable Campaign Design annual charitable giving campaign for Brookhaven College (part of District-wide campaign) and collect pledges from Brookhaven College employees to meet designated contribution goals.

Student Representative Recognition The SRA committee plans an event that recognizes and honors student representatives who have earned scholarships.
