Consistent with our agreement with the Farmers Branch Police Department:

1.      ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION:

         Brookhaven College has the primary responsibility for investigating “minor” traffic accidents and filing a copy with the State of Texas. “Minor” traffic accidents do not include:

A.     Hit and run accidents;

B.      Injury or death accidents.

2.      TRAFFIC CONTROL:

         As long as the streets and roadways upon the campus are not dedicated as city streets, no traffic enforcement will be conducted by members of the Farmers Branch Police Department. All traffic control needs upon campus will be handled by College police officers.

3.      PARKING VIOLATIONS:

         No parking regulations will be enforced by the Farmers Branch Police Department except fire lane, fire plug violations and disabled parking violations.

4.      CRIME PREVENTION AND FIRE LANE INSPECTIONS:

         Routine police patrol upon the campus is welcomed by Brookhaven College.

5.      REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE:

         Farmers Branch Police officers will serve as backup to Brookhaven College police officers when requested.

6.      VEHICLE THEFTS:

         The Farmers Branch Police Department will be responsible for investigating and making reports on all vehicle thefts.

7.      CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS:

         The Farmers Branch Police Department shall be responsible for investigating and making reports on all crimes against persons reported to the police by a citizen or college police.

8.      CRIMES AGAINST PROPERTY:

         The Farmers Branch Police Department will be responsible for investigating and making reports on all crimes against property reported to the police by a citizen or college police.

9.      RADIO COMMUNICATIONS:

         Occasional and necessary requests for stolen status reports on vehicles on campus by college police will be honored by use of Farmers Branch Police Department’s computer terminal operated by Farmers Branch Police Department.

10.    ARRESTS:

         College police are commissioned police officers and may effect arrests for major misdemeanors or felony offenses occurring in their presence. Some minor misdemeanor arrests may be effected by College police officers. If the need arises, Farmers Branch Police Department will be called and will assume lead role once the request is received.
