Loans, unlike grants or work-study, are borrowed money that must be repaid, with interest. These are real loans -- just like car loans or mortgages.
Loans cannot be cancelled because you are having financial difficulty or for any other reason.
These loans are a serious obligation, so think about the amount you'll have to repay over the years before you take out a loan.
Brookhaven College participates in the
Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) referred to as FFELP Stafford/FFELP PLUS Loans or Federal Stafford/Federal PLUS Loans. In the FFELP, the lender is a bank, credit union or other participating private lender.
