Congratulations! You are nearing the completion of your certificate or degree, so now is the time to make sure you have everything ready.
Your degree plan is your path to completion and graduation.
You have access to this road map 24 hours a day through eConnect. You, the
student, have the ultimate responsibility to select and register for courses
meeting your graduation requirements. Please check your degree plan every
semester and meet with an advisor to make sure you are on track for graduation.
Applying for graduation is not the same as registering to take part in commencement. It means you believe you have completed all the courses within your degree plan or certificate program and want to have that credential awarded. Degree auditors review your transcripts and academic record to ensure that you do meet the requirements and will then award you the credential (and it may be more than one) that you have earned.
An annual Commencement Ceremony is held at the conclusion of
the spring semester at Brookhaven College.
Ceremony attendance is optional, and graduates who wish to attend must
confirm their participation in addition to completing the graduation
Participation in commencement exercises is ceremonial only
and is no guarantee of receiving a certificate and/or degree. Students who complete or are targeted to complete their certificate/degree requirements in the Fall, Spring or Summer semester of that same academic year are eligible to participate in the May
graduation. You should notify the registrar
in the Admissions Office if you wish to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
The college may schedule additional graduation ceremonies.
For more information about the Commencement Ceremony, please contact the Admissions Office at bhcAdmissions@dcccd.edu.
