Students can maintain F-1 status by completing courses concurrently at another institution while remaining on BHC I-20 if they meet all the requirements listed on the Concurrent Enrollment Form.
- Identify possible concurrent courses.
Verify with a Brookhaven College academic advisor that the courses meet degree requirements.
Submit a Concurrent Enrollment Form to the Multicultural Center before the first day of class for the semester of concurrent enrollment. Receive approval with a signature on the form.
Enroll and complete the approved concurrent courses.
Provide documentation to the Multicultural Center that you completed the approved concurrent courses to meet F-1 enrollment requirements. The most convenient source for students is in a credit report.
If course is taken at an institution other than DCCCD, arrange for the transfer of credit to Brookhaven College by bringing an official transcript from the school you attended as a concurrent student.
- At least nine of the F-1 required hours must be taken at Brookhaven College.
- Students in the Intensive English Program are not eligible for concurrent enrollment.
