Penalties Under Federal and State Law:Table of Contents

Campus crimes that involve violence, property loss through theft, or any felony under the Texas Penal Code are reported immediately by the department to the proper city, state or federal agency. Commissioned officers are allowed under the Texas State Law to effect arrest and carry firearms. The Brookhaven College Police Department has concurrent jurisdiction with the Farmers Branch Police Department. The Farmers Branch police department will respond to all criminal activity and will enter all serial numbers of stolen property from the college facilities into the National Crime Information Center and Texas Information Center. The goal of the Brookhaven College Police Department is to maintain a safe and suitable environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
