How will the Smoking Policy be enforced?

Anyone noticing an individual who is smoking in a non-smoking area may inform the other individual of the smoke-free policy and refer them to the designated smoking areas.

When an individual who is smoking in a non-smoking area is observed by a college police officer, the officer may inform the smoker of the policy and request him/her to cease smoking in the non-smoking area.

Should an individual continue to violate the smoking policy after being advised that he/she is in violation, the following actions may occur. In the case of a student, a statement will be mailed to the student and copied to the vice president of student development; In the case of a visitor, the police officer will escort the visitor off campus; In the case of an employee, a letter noting the violation of the college policy will be issued to the employee with a copy to the supervisor.
