Special Services: for Students with Disabilities

Helping you reach high goals.

Special Services provides individualized assistance for students with disabilities. Schedule an appointment with a Special Services staff member by calling 972-860-4847 and discuss your special needs and educational goals.

After meeting with the Special Services advisor, individual accommodations will be planned. Appropriate records will be secured for your file and assistance with registration provided.

Special Services funding is made possible by the Coordinating Board of Texas Colleges and Universities and the Carl Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Educational Act.

Learning Challenged

Students who are learning challenged - To begin the process of receiving accommodations, students must schedule an appointment with a Special Services advisor. A copy of diagnostic testing, no older than five years, is required for your file. The advisor can help retrieve these documents and will be guided by testing recommendations for accommodations. Referrals for diagnostic testing also are made through this department.

Physically Challenged

Students who are physically challenged - Brookhaven is committed to reducing the barriers that physically challenged students often face. The campus is designed so that telephones, rest rooms and water fountains are accessible. Reserved handicapped parking, ramps and remote control door-openers are available throughout the campus.
