Assessment Testing Information

Assessment test scores are used by advisors to make recommendations about course choices during registration.

  • Referral forms from the Advising and Counseling Center, Multicultural Center or Admissions Office are required for all assessment tests.
  • Assessment tests for reading, sentence skills and math (Accuplacer™) are given:
    • Monday-Thursday at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.,
    • and Friday at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
    • There are no Saturday tests.
  • The Assessment Tests for international students taking credit courses or noncredit courses are given:

    Compass Assessment Test (for Credit)

    • Monday-Thursday at 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m..
    • Friday at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
    • There are no tests on Saturday.

    Celsa Assessment Test (for Non-Credit)

    • Monday-Thursday at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
    • Friday at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon.
    • There are no tests on Saturday.

  • Bring your student ID or any other photo ID.  If you do not have a driver license, a photo ID card can be obtained from a Texas Department of Public Safety Driver License Examination Station.
