Want to become a tutor? Solving problems can be fun, and tutoring can be a great way to make friends while getting an education. Tutorial Services is committed to hiring responsible, professional individuals who wish to support others in their academic goals. Job candidates must submit transcripts reflecting college-level credit and have an overall grade point average, GPA, of 3.0 or better as well as a grade of "A" or "B" for each subject they wish to tutor. Job applicants must complete an application and submit their transcripts. Students who would like to work as tutors should contact Tutorial Services to request an application.
Tutorial Services provides tutor training and certification through the College Reading and Learning Association, CRLA. Most student tutors spend their first semester in the role of Tutor Trainees. Departmental tutors are required to obtain Level I certification while Levels II and III are voluntary. Training is conducted during the fall and spring semesters.
