Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

More than ever, the field of emergency medicine needs trained personnel for a wide variety of career paths. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) references a special set of skills used for treating urgent and life-threatening medical emergencies.

This program will augment your emergency response knowledge beyond basic life support skills like CPR. ACLS includes monitoring heart rhythms, defibrillation, airway management/intubation, emergency drug administration and the initiation of IV lines. You’ll learn interventions for cardiac arrest, stroke and other life-threatening situations.

ACLS skills can be used in many careers where emergency medicine is required, including work in:

  • Emergency 911 services
  • Hospitals
  • Private ambulance services
  • Fire departments
  • Police departments
