Head Start Center at Brookhaven College

The Head Start Center at Brookhaven College, a partnership between Greater Head Start of Dallas and the college — the first of its kind in the country — features a $3 million model preschool facility on the Brookhaven campus run independently by Head Start of Greater Dallas. The center serves nearly 200 preschool-age children each year and offer comprehensive services in nutrition, health, social skills, physical coordination, self-esteem and pre-reading and pre-math skills. The college provides extensive support services for parents including mentoring, career development and counseling, financial aid counseling, tutoring for college courses and college success strategies.

This community-college-based center also serves as a teaching facility for Brookhaven's Child Development and Teacher Preparation programs. Families must meet eligibility guidelines for services. Additional information about the Head Start application is available online athttp://www.hsgd.org/. Call 972-331-9565 or 972-283-6400 for more information.
