Communications involves the distribution of information on a large scale to a mass audience. Courses may include an intro to mass communication; an intro to electronic media; video production; media literacy and writing; radio and TV writing and announcing; news reporting; photojournalism and news photography; editing and layout; public relations; and advertising art.
Many courses are enhanced by hands-on work with student media outlets (newspaper, radio, television and website). Communications courses are listed under the four-letter rubric (course prefix)
COMM and include Mass Communications and Journalism courses.
