Full-Time Faculty

Darise Error

Darise Error has an extensive background as a practitioner in both acting and directing. Locally, she has directed for Bucket Productions, Mesquite Community Theatre and Plano Repertory Theatre. Favorite acting roles include Linda Loman in Death of a Salesman, Nancy in Oliver! and Blanche in Brighton Beach Memoirs. She taught acting for musical theater majors at Brigham Young University where she earned her master's degree. Darise earned her doctorate at Texas Tech University, where she also taught film and advanced acting courses.

Adjunct Faculty

Michael A. Robinson

Michael A. Robinson, a former Brookhaven College student, has been working with Theatre Brookhaven for over a decade. His directing credits include The Matchmaker, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Tom Jones, Great Expectations, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Dear Brutus and A Christmas Carol. He also has appeared in several of the productions including A Flea in Her Ear, Anything Goes, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Carnival, Great Expectations and A Christmas Carol. Michael owns the Dallas Costume Shoppe, the oldest of its kind in the South. He is a former nominee for Brookhaven College's Excellence in Teaching Award for Adjunct Faculty.


Lisa Devine

Lisa Devine received her Master of Fine Arts in directing from the University of Oklahoma. Academically, she has taught theater at multiple colleges and universities including Collin College, LaSalle University and the University of Oklahoma. Lisa has directed professionally all over the country, including Rover Dramawerks, Chicago's Profiles Theatre, Weitzenhoffer Theatre in Oklahoma and Off-Broadway with Theatre East.

Ryan Ingrim

Ryan Ingrim has been in education since 2006 as teacher and director. He received his MA from the University of Houston and his BFA from Texas Tech University. Voice acting was always a dream of his and finally became a reality in 2012. Since then, he has done everything from audiobooks to anime. Some of his favorite theatre projects have been playing the role of Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls, the role of Tuzenbach in Three Sisters, and directing Rabbit Hole.

Caroline Murphy

Caroline Murphy earned a Master's Degree in Musical Theater Writing from New York University, where she was the recipient of the Max Dreyfus ASCAP scholarship for musical composition. Her plays and musicals have been produced all over the country. She was featured in American Theater Magazine as an up-and-coming voice of musical theater, and has been selected to participate in several prestigious artist residencies in New York City, including the Baryshnikov Art Center Artist Residency. She is also an accomplished singer-songwriter, performing frequently throughout Dallas, New York City, as well as the rest of the country.

Theatre Staff

George Hagele

George Hagele serves as the Drama Department's technical director. While at Brookhaven College, George has done scenic designs for Fools and the 2010 Evening of One Acts. Previously, George worked at the Eisemann Center and at many area theaters as a carpenter. In his spare time, George also does freelance work in photography and pyrotechnics.

Charles Self

Charles Self holds a Bachelor of Arts in fine arts with a theater concentration from Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tenn. He came to Theatre Brookhaven in the spring of 2001 with a background that included directing, acting and various design and technical experiences. Since coming to Brookhaven College, he has worked on departmental and non-departmental projects in a variety of technical capacities.
